The eyes are one of the first areas to show signs of aging, and eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a great way to help correct the tired, heavy appearing eyes. With age, the eyelids develop excess skin, there can be bulging of a fat pads and bags underneath the eyes, and an eyelid surgery is designed to correct these features.
The upper eyelid procedure, the incision is within the natural eyelid crease, and for the lower eyelid we can either do the incision on the inside of the eyelid or just below the lashline. The point of this is to keep the incisions as hidden and discreet as possible.
On average, the procedure takes about one to two hours to perform. There's usually minimal pain afterward and patients are usually comfortable going back to social settings in about a week or sooner.
