What is a virtual consultation?
Virtual appointments differ from office to office. Ours start with photos and a consultation form, which collects information such as your medical history and treatment goals. Our doctors, Dr. Raymond Konior and Dr. Sahar Nadimi, will review this information before scheduling a virtual visit with you. Whether you live in the Chicagoland area or will travel to our Oakbrook Terrace hair restoration office from across the world, this consultation helps our doctors better understand you and your unique needs. From here, we can begin exploring possible procedures and schedule an in-person appointment at our office.
Who needs to fill out a consultation form?
Our office offers facial plastic surgery procedures and other services, such as injectables. However, the virtual appointment form is intended for patients considering hair restoration treatments. Extensive patient information is needed to begin planning hair loss treatment, and depending on your needs and goals, there may be multiple treatment options for you and your surgeon to discuss.
Why do we ask for pictures?
Our doctors ask that you send in a series of well-lit, clear photos of your existing hair at various angles. Sending accurate photos of your hair and scalp can help our doctors diagnose your type of hair loss, evaluate your candidacy for various hair loss treatments, and develop your treatment plan. From these photos, our staff can pinpoint the areas with the most hair loss and which sections may be ideal for donor regions.
The Photos Needed For Your Virtual Visit
Our consultation form asks that you upload photos from several specific angles to showcase all areas of your scalp. If applicable, mark your ideal hairline using a drawing program, or draw your desired hairline on your skin using a body-safe marker or make-up pencil. The images needed are:
- Your front view
- Front view with head tipped down about 45 degrees
- Front view with head fully tipped down to show the top of your scalp
- Back view to show your donor hair region
- Front view, with desired hairline marked
- Left view, with desired hairline marked
- Right view, with desired hairline marked
We advise saving photos in a .PNG or .JPEG format, with a max total file size of 50MB.
